As millions of Americans hunker down for the winter storm, 19 states and Washington, D.C., have declared states of emergency.
Isolated lake effect snow showers are expected mostly on the west side with a north-south wind orientation. They will diminish shortly after sunset. Highs will be slightly warmer on Sunday, with temperatures approaching 20 for the first time in over a week! And if it stays 17 or below, it will be the longest such stretch in recorded history!
With temperatures well-above normal for this time of year, combined with lack of precipitation, no new snow has been reported within the last 24-hours for our ski areas. Crews continue to groom and prep the slopes overnight to ensure you can still get in some good runs on a solid base.

WASHINGTON — A major winter storm that moved across the United States over the weekend dropped heavy snow in places from the Southwest to the Northeast, with several spots reporting more than two feet of snow.
Another beautiful spring-like day across the Cascades with highs in the 30s and 40s and a mix of clouds and sunshine. Problem is that it is January and we need some snow. Not much is expected this weekend other than a light snow event on Sunday and possibly Monday.
